Welcome to Pathfinder Village, an internationally renowned open-access neighborhood where individuals with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities make lasting friendships, experience community, and gain independence.
In addition to our Merchant Square, there are many reasons to visit Pathfinder Village throughout the year. Enjoy summer concerts in the Pavilion, youth soccer games at Grant’s Field or walk with family and friends on our community trails. As part of the regional tapestry, Pathfinder leverages its resources to enhance daily life for our community and our neighbors.
Dedicated to ongoing research on intellectual disabilities including clinical initiatives, professional education, and family support. Collaborative partners include OPWDD's Institute for Basic Research, Colgate University, and many hospitals, practitioners, and policymakers.
One of the most vibrant places at Pathfinder, The Merchant Square is where community connections are made. Visit friends at the Cafè, and stop by the Pathfinder Produce market in The Commons each Thursday afternoon. Consider a stay at our Village Inn where hospitality and rural charm welcome all travelers. In addition to these social and recreational opportunities, the community is fortunate to have access to quality healthcare through the Dr. William F. Streck Community Health Clinic.
A welcoming neighborhood where people enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle, with opportunities to visit and join activities. Several homes offer semi-independent apartments; one home offers enhanced supports for individuals living with dementia.
A place where students can discover, learn from others, and experience success. A place where kids can set goals, achieve dreams, and find out what it means to challenge yourself. Pathfinder School offers year-round, individualized educational programs for residential and day students aged 5-21.
Operated in partnership with Bassett Healthcare Network, the new William F. Streck Health Center at Pathfinder Village is a community resource that provides acute care and healthcare services for Pathfinder residents and students, local employees, and area families. Opposite the Health Center, sits Grant’s Field, the home of Edmeston-area youth soccer and a welcoming venue for Pathfinder practices and games. At the end of Turner Lane, walkers and runners may enjoy the Pathfinder Village Walking & Fitness Trail, a 1.3 mile groomed path open during daylight hours to the general public.
